It’s been a while since I did an OOTD post!
I saw this dress in the most recent Lane Bryant mailer and loved the retro graphic look of it. LB’s dresses have been pretty hit or miss these past few seasons…they either cling to places that are NOT flattering on me, or they are smothered in studs and bling and tons of doo-dads that I don’t want on my dresses. Typically, though, their fall looks seem to be a lot more classic and a lot less…garish. I stopped by my closest store to try it on last week and fell head over heels for this dress when I put it on. The fabric is a really nice weight…it’s not too thick, but has substance, so it flows and drapes nicely. I love the fact that it just slips on…very easy in the morning. I also love that it comes with the slim belt! I was a little concerned that the belt would slip through the day, but it stayed in place! Most of all, I just felt AMAZING in the dress. I know this sounds silly, but I received a LOT of compliments on this dress…everyone loved it! I even got a few compliments from customers and some strangers when we went to dinner that night. Maybe it was the dress, maybe it was the fact that I felt great in it, but this was a piece that I am glad I invested in. I’ll wear it like this while it’s still warm, and will pair it with tights and boots this winter!
On to the shoes! I have been looking for a pair of nice black leather pointed toe flats for AGES. I have dug around on Pinterest, Google, Polyvore…you name it, I have searched it. I wanted REAL leather, beacause I know with care they will last (that and it helps prevent stinky feet). I happened across these beauties while searching on Zappos. Don’t get me wrong, I love Zappos, but their prices are just a bit…steep. Leather exterior AND interior PLUS leather soles! Good reviews, too. On a whim, I searched for the same shoes on eBay, and found them being sold by Century 21 Stores for almost HALF THE PRICE. I wore them all day on Friday to work and found them extremely comfortable. I sized up a half size so there would be a bit more room in the toe box, and I’m glad I did. I can’t wait to wear these with my slim-fit boyfriend jeans or skinny jeans and blousy tops.
