Happy New Year!

Happy New Year (Kiama fireworks).JPG

Happy New Year, darling readers! Welcome to 2012! I hope your holidays were full of love, joy, and fantastic times with friends and family.

I have some really great things lined up for this year…first off, I’ll be debuting a couple of new weekly columns. You know I’ve already mentioned Frugal Fridays, where I’ll be featuring some great inexpensive picks for beauty products. I’ve also decided to start following my love of lingerie and gorgeous bras for all sizes by starting a Bra of the Week column. I’ve been going through some fantastic styles that are either great in fuller figures, or choosing styles that will fit a wide range of sizes! I can’t wait to start showing off some of my new pretty picks.

Bonne Année - Happy New Year

I’m spending my New Year’s Day reflecting on what I want out of 2012. I’m not very good with resolutions (who is, really?) but I want to look forward and focus on what I want out of the upcoming year. Here are some of the things I have planned:

- To help Doug find a great (permanent) job.
- To work on making myself more healthy. I’ve been suffering from a lot of health problems and it has taken a toll on my job and body.
- On that note, I need to work on eating more lean meats, vegetables, and fruits, and less starches and fatty meats. I plan on cooking a lot more at home, and making stuff that can easily be frozen and reheated for quicker and healthier lunches at work. I want to start eating more home cooked meals and less fast food.
- Planning more visits with friends. Living over half an hour away from almost everyone I’m close to has taken a toll on my relationships with them. I need to make more time to visit friends and spend time with them.
- Working on blogging a lot more often! I have come to realize that if I do not plan posts ahead of time, I tend to be too tired in the evenings to focus on writing. So I need to come up with ideas and write plenty of posts when I can so there will not be a lot of downtime. I am currently reading Yuli Ziv’s Fashion 2.0: Blogging Your Way to the Front Row and I am really hoping it will help jumpstart my brain with ideas.

Happy Holidays!

Our Christmas tree.

Here’s wishing everyone out there a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Blessed Yule, or whatever holiday you choose (or don’t choose) to celebrate. May your day be fabulous, and your time spent with family and friends be special. I will be spending my Christmas day with my husband’s family, laughing, joking, stuffing myself silly, and relaxing.

As you can tell, I’ve ended up taking a slight hiatus from blogging…this is due to a busy holiday work schedule and fighting off a bad cold. It’s been two weeks and I am still fighting off the sniffles and coughing fits. The good thing is that I have a lot of stuff planned for January, so please stick around! I promise that I have a lot of great columns and posts lined up!

See everyone in 2012!
