It’s been a busy week for me! Work has been keeping me busy (always a good thing), although I wrapped up the week with a 24-hour stomach bug that knocked me on my butt for most of the day yesterday. I pretty much spent my time either curled up on the couch yesterday or on my bed watching assorted crime shows (DOINK DOINK) and movies (watched Angels and Demons, and decided I need to see Rome at some point in my life).

I’ve become rather enamored with Pinterest lately. It’s a really great way to collect pictures of things that inspire you, and not just clothing – furniture, food, posters, places. You name it, you can clip it and tack it on one of your boards – like a little cork board for all of your interests! It’s what I wanted to do with my Tumblr, but this makes it a lot easier and keeps things more organized. If you’re on Pinterest, feel free to follow me here!

I Hit It With My Axe on The Escapist

I watched the entire available run of these yesterday morning. Essentially, a group of six players get together weekly for a Dungeons and Dragons session. Five of the six players are regulars, and the sixth is usually a “guest” who is playing for a session. Satine Phoenix, Kimberly Kane, and Mandy Morbid have worked or are currently working in the porn industry. Connie is an exotic dancer, and Frankie is a hairdresser. The “guest” players so far have been Sasha Grey, Justine Jolie, and Gia Jordan, all in the porn industry. The game is run by Zak Sabbath. Zak has been playing D&D since he was 8, Satine has been playing since she was 15, and the rest of the group are more current – 2008 and on. Most of the guest players are brand new to the game.

WARNING: Googling the names sends you to sites that are extremely NOT SAFE FOR WORK. If you search for these names and get fired in the process, well, I warned you.

The group has a really good vibe, and there’s a lot of roleplaying, combat and out of character banter between the players. I’ll be honest – I really wish I had a great group of players like this to play D&D with. Not only are they kick-ass girls, but they’re FUN. I can’t play any kind of game with a group that doesn’t have fun, no matter what their gender. Watching these videos made me want to start tabletop gaming again. My friend Allison is starting a game for a few friends, and this gave me the push to write up my character background. Even if you don’t play D&D and have no idea what this is about, I highly suggest you check it out. It’s a fun series and I plan to keep following their campaign.

Zak, the Dungeon Master, also runs a blog called Playing D&D With Porn Stars. The blog gives you kind of a background into what you don’t see on the show. (The link is pretty much safe for work, but considering the name you may want to check it out at home.)
