I admit, a lot of these items I’ve had for a few years now – my Duo Ravenna boots, the Torrid slouch boots, my Evans black and grey mac, the beret – but I am loving cognac and red for this season! Some wide belts to accentuate the waist, peep-toe wedges for warmer days, flats, oxfords, and low-heeled maryjanes for closed-toe cooler days, classic cats-eye specs (both clear and tinted), headbands and berets to polish up the look, ladylike clutches for evenings out.

That concludes this edition of The WANT List for fall 2011! What styles are you looking forward to this fall? Are you going retro, boho, rockstar, glamorous?

The WANT List, Fall 2011 – Handbags by sevenlies

One of my addictions when it comes to fashion is purses. I had a serious problem with buying purses – so much that Doug actually forbade me to buy any new ones for a LONG time! I finally whittled my collection down to some basics – my everyday black Fossil tote, a green clutch for dress events, a small Mulberry for Target crossbody for traveling, and a bright yellow hobo that my friend Alli gave me for Christmas (because she knew I’d been wanting a yellow purse for a long time, and I LOVE her for remembering). However, since I’ve started adding more brown and navy pieces to my wardrobe I am looking at picking up a bag to go with my non-black items – maybe one in cognac or tan.

I started poking around online, looking for some big slouchy yet ladylike bags, and found the Mulberry Oversized Alexa – which I LOVE the shape of – but for $1450? Only if I win the lottery! I also love the Hermes Birkin – but there’s even less of a chance of me getting that one. I also adore Miu Miu’s and Michael Kors’ styles, but again, these are too far out of my budget.

Enter Handbag Heaven.

Designer-inspired bags for under $100? YES PLEASE. I’ve been eyeing their stuff since last September, when I had my eye on the Ashton Oversized Satchel and the Gina Buckle Satchel. Sadly, they no longer have these styles available, but there are plenty others to choose from!

So here’s my picks for fall’s cheaper but still stylish options!

Mulberry Alexa – $1450

Lucille Buckle Satchel @ Handbag Heaven

Hermes Birkin – $5000 and up

Blake Schoolgirl Satchel @ Handbag Heaven

Torrid ivory and grey henley
Forever21 stripe tee
Torrid skinny Sophia jean
For some reason, I’ve been on the hunt for some cute Breton-stripe tees and tops  lately.  Namely, I’m looking for more of a boatneck/scoopneck top with 3/4 length sleeves and a black/white or navy/white stripe, that will hit me right at the mid-hip.  However, it seems that this style is nowhere to be found – but this Torrid henley works well in a pinch!  I plan on pairing it with skinny jeans and my (ever-present) ballet flats.

Torrid Black and Red Dot Ruffle Cami
Torrid Black and White Dot Ruffle Cami
Torrid denim trouser
I’ve found myself drawn to a lot of retro styling recently. I love the look of these cute and comfy camis with their dots – I’ve been wearing them all summer with cardis and skirts. Since the fit is pretty slim through the body, I want to pair them with wide-legged trouser jeans. You could easily keep this casual with some low wedges and a fabric headband, or dress it up with a cropped shrug, heels, and a low ponytail with a flower clip.

Old Navy purple cardigan
Torrid black cropped cardigan
Torrid Z. Cavaricci straight-leg jean
One of the major staples in my closet are v-neck cardigans. I love them because of their timeless appeal – a lightweight cardi can go from season to season with the proper layers, and they almost never go out of style. Paired with a good dark-wash pair of straight-leg jeans, this look is one of my favorites for this season. Throw on a tee and motorcycle boots for casual comfy style, or a silky blouse and heels for date night.

Would you wear any of these looks? What styles have you been eyeing for fall?
