I saw this cape dress on Simply Be and instantly thought “70s Style!” You can either wear this with the cape for a little more coverage, or take it off for a sleeveless style. The colors are just pure fall, don’t you think?
Since this dress is darker with a bold print, I put the Panache Tango II balconnet bra underneath. This is a pretty cut-and-sewn bra with delicate leaf embroidery. It is full coverage, but it really lifts and holds the ladies in place, giving you a wonderful hourglass classic silhouette!
Accessories: a stretchy big belt around the middle gives you plenty of curves without sacrificing comfort, and a fall dress like this calls for pretty brown tights and boots. A slouchy hobo and floppy hat really amps up the retro vibe, and piles of gold beaded bracelets and stackable rings look amazing with this.
A short little bob like this one would look cute peeking out from that floppy hat – very different and much more modern than waist-length hair!
What would you pair with this dress? Would you go more modern or stick with the retro look?
I always am in the mood for a floaty chiffon dress. Pair them with sandals in the summer, and tights in the winter. No matter what your size, they’re delicate, soft, and oh-so-pretty.
I love this adorable dress from Simply Be. Coral doesn’t have to be a summer color – I think the color would look just as sweet with brown, and maybe even black! Black tights and black heels would look sweet and modern.
Since the dress is fairly smooth, you’ll need a good smooth bra to go under it – I chose the Rebecca from Fantasie. This is a great bra made out of spacer fabric that breathes and moves with you. It comes in white (so fresh) or nude (great basic color).
Since I’m picking this for fall, I’m taking the temperature into account with a cream sweater, brown leggings, and knee-high boots with a bit of a wedge heel. Layering is a necessity here in Louisiana. Sometimes fall temps can run 40s in the morning and 70s in the afternoon!
The dress comes with a brown woven belt, but I think I’d do away with that and wear this leopard skinny belt instead. I love an armful of bright silver pieces – bangles, beads, and a bit of studded leather. The handbag is a great leather tote from Simply Be – and I SO want this bag. It’s seasonless, classic, and would go with just about everything from jeans and tees to dresses and heels.
Also, I’ve been planning on getting my hair cut recently – I think this sweet flirty bob would go really well with this outfit!
What do you think of this set? Would you wear this? What would you pair a soft dress with for fall?
This past week I’ve started receiving my fall magazines in the mail and on my iPad – and even though the temperatures in Louisiana are still in the 90s with 90 percent or higher humidity, my thoughts are moving more to cooler temperatures, boots, and sweaters! Here are some of the items I’m loving for fall:
Peplum tops in lace – show just the right amount of skin
Feminine dresses – either flowy and loose or sleek and body-conscious
Ankle-length denim – show off those shoes, also easy to tuck into boots
Biker jackets – tough-chic addition; wear it with jeans or dresses
Colored tights – layered under cute dresses, brings a pop of color
Armfuls of bracelets – gold, silver, pearls, or leather…doesn’t matter; pile it all on!
Ladylike satchels – carry ALL your stuff in seasonless style
Geek-chic specs – get your nerd on; tortoiseshell goes with everything
Chunky heels – much more stable than stilettos
Boots, boots, and MORE boots! – ya’ll know my affection for the boot, so this should be no surprise! From preppy riding boots, to sexy heeled boots, to stompy biker boots…wear them with everything!
As the week goes on I’ll be posting some of my favorite looks with these pieces, so stay tuned!
